Like a wall, fences keep people, animals, or things apart from each other, control access, or prevent escape. A fence can be an invisible boundary built from assumptions, preconceptions, cultural differences, and bias - or a friendly boundary born of respect. We're inviting BC artists to consider the power 'fences' have over our behaviour and the different types of physical or metaphoric fences that exist politically, socially and personally.
Two Rivers Gallery has just released the call for submissions for the upcoming FENCES exhibition. Artists (working in any media) can submit up to 6 completed works for consideration. Chosen artists will receive an exhibition fee.
Submissions must be received no later than 5pm, November 17, 2017. Please download the application package (Fences_Call.pdf) for full submission guidlines. Click here for details on the gallery space.
