Welcome to Two Rivers Gallery’s blog! We’ll be using these pages to share news of our events and classes, introduce you to artists and more. Check back weekly to find out what we’ve been up to.
For those of you who are new to Two Rivers Gallery, we’re located in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada at 725 Canada Games Way. We are a class A facility, showcasing Canadian contemporary art from all across the country. With exhibitions in the main gallery spaces changing every 3 months, and Galleria exhibitions changing almost monthly, visitors to the Gallery have a chance to see and interact with up to 20 exhibitions per year.
In addition to exhibitions, we have many programs and special events throughout the year, including two annual fundraisers (Menagerie in October and our Live Art Auction in May), an artisan’s fair in December, and KidzArt Dayz in July.
We have classes and workshops for people of all ages, from toddlers to adults. We also have a state-of-the art MakerLab with 3D printers, a Laser cutter/engraver, lathes, leatherworking tools, jewelry making tools, sewing machines, hammers, saws, drills and more. We welcome all Makers on Thursday evenings at our weekly OpenMake nights from 5 – 9pm.
Students from local schools and Homeschool students enjoy coming to Two Rivers Gallery to interact with art by touring the gallery spaces with qualified docents. We also take art-making to the schools with our ever-popular Studio Visits and explore a range of hands-on art activities, from drawing and painting to print-making and architecture.
Every summer, we develop an exhibition that travels throughout the Regional District of Fraser Fort George, showing in museums and galleries in Valemount, McBride and Mackenzie. Staff from Two Rivers Gallery also travel around the region in the spring and summer months, attending local festivals in outlying towns and delivering arts-based educational programs to regional schools.
We hope to see you at the Gallery soon. In the meantime, enjoy our posts and let us know what you’d like to hear about next!
