The Prince George Art Gallery is very pleased to present this colourful and popular exhibition on the art of the garden. This spring, we invited local and regional visual artists and artisans to create works of art inspired by gardens and all living things found there. People travel the earth to find nirvana, yet happiness and contentment can often be found right in our own backyards. Artisans who had not submitted work for an “Art gallery” exhibition before were encouraged to enter work to be considered for part of this exhibition.
As you will notice from viewing the works in the exhibition, the artists had lots of fun with this assignment! We received the largest number of submissions of any regional, juried exhibition the Gallery has produced. We live in a part of the country where we truly appreciate every bit of sunshine and warm weather we receive. The gardening season is short and so is life!
