November 19 to December 23, 1998
The holiday season wouldn’t be complete without a gingerbread house spreading its spicy fragrance throughout the house or, in this case, the gallery. In planning this exhibition, the gallery staff envisioned a partnership between architects/artists/designers and bakers: bringing together sets of people who would not normally collaborate on a project. The result was a festive and fun-filled family adventure. Some of the designs are more traditional, such as the Gingerbread Church and the False-Front Gingerbread House. Others are playful and irreverent, such as the Gingerbread House of Cards and the Treehouse design.
