April 13 to June 24, 2012
Two Rivers Gallery recognises that it is positioned on Lheidli T'enneh territory in the centre of a culturally diverse province inhabited for many thousands of years by innovative peoples who developed rich cultural traditions.
These peoples, this land's First Nations, produced extraordinary, complex art traditions that developed over time. Like any vital culture, these traditions continue to evolve and have at various times absorbed the influence of both aboriginal and non-aboriginal newcomers. First will explore the diversity of First Nations', Inuit and Metis art being produced in this province.
This exhibition featured artwork by: Carla Aubichon Joseph, Shirley Babcock, Catherine Manahan, Liz Carter, Robert Davidson, Nigel Fox, Keith Kerrigan, Shana Labatch, lessLIE, Jennifer Pighin, Kim Stewart, Dylan Thomas and Connie Watts.
