THANK YOU to everyone who attended the 2017 event! Your support means we can continue to be a hub for arts & culture in Prince George! Stay tuned for the date of the 2018 auction.

Proceeds from this event help support many of the services the Gallery delivers in Prince George, including Art Heals (Hospital outreach program) and MakerLab Youth Immersion (program for at-risk teens).

Your ticket includes hors d’oevres and a glass of wine or beer. Witness cut-throat bidding wars as local collectors duel for a piece of fine art before the bang of the auctioneer’s gavel announces the winner! There will also be a silent auction featuring the work of local artisans. We offer something for all tastes and budgets!

Tickets are $25 each, or 2 for $40. They are available at the gallery, by phone (250-614-7800) or online:

If you can't attend in person, fill out our Absentee Bid Form online or by phone 250-614-7800.

David Thauberger is known for his paintings and prints of the vernacular architecture and cultural icons of Saskatchewan. Together with his paintings of popular culture and postcard images of tourist meccas far and wide, his images of Saskatchewan are articulate debates involving art, culture and how we view our world, presenting a hyper-real picture of our context that transcends regionalism while capturing the heart of what it means to be from Saskatchewan.

Thauberger’s achievements have been recognized by the Saskatchewan Order of Merit. He was invested as a Member of the Order of Canada in 2008, is a recipient of the Queen’s Diamond Medal in 2012, the Lieutenant Governor’s Saskatchewan Artist Award in 2009 and is member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. When named as a Member of the Order of Canada, he was cited for his contributions to “the promotion and preservation of Canadian heritage and folk art in the province of Saskatchewan, in addition to his work as a painter, sculptor and educator.”

Thauberger has become known as an iconoclastic artist, creating colourful portraits of vernacular prairie buildings, legion halls, quonset huts, false-fronted shops and inner-city bungalows.

In 2015, Two Rivers Gallery hosted Thauberger’s solo exhibition, The Prince George Paintings. Catalogue available.
