Two Rivers Gallery is a vital centre for visual art in Prince George and the central interior of British Columbia, Canada. Operated by the nonprofit Prince George Regional Art Gallery Association, are strategic goals are to:
As a registered non-profit charity, the Prince George Regional Art Gallery Association relies on annual donations from individuals like you to continue to offer these exciting programs and exhibitions. This spring we are highlighting two programs that need your support, Pay It Forward and the Permanent Collection.
While we offer an array of children’s art classes, day camps and youth programs, we realize that not every family can afford to send their children to these programs and while there are access opportunities for sports, support for young people interested in creative pursuits is difficult to find. Last year, due to generous donations, we were able to send 15 children to the Gallery’s Maker Club, studio classes and Creativity Camps and another 216 students experienced our school programming at no cost. While some teachers and families approached us, we also worked with inner city venture schools like Nusdeh Yoh, Ron Brent and Harwin Elementary Schools to reach out to children who might benefit from our programs. At this time, our Pay It Forward fund is depleted and we are asking for donations to ensure that we are able to help families that need financial support in order to send their children to our programs. Our goal is $5000.
By donating to the Pay It Forward Fund, you are making it possible for the Gallery to assist those families who need a little extra help.
Two Rivers Gallery has been offered an opportunity to acquire a painting by Gary Pearson for the Permanent Collection. Born in Prince George, Gary Pearson is a noted mid-to-late career artist whose work has received significant attention. The Kelowna Art Gallery produced a major retrospective of his work recently and Two Rivers Gallery exhibited his work earlier this year. Paintings from the 2019 exhibition are the subject of interest from major Canadian Galleries. Pearson’s large oil painting, Condominium, has been offered for acquisition to Two Rivers Gallery’s Permanent Collection for $7,500.00, which is 50% of market value. Condominium would be an noteworthy addition to our collection and we require community support to be able to acquire this important painting. By supporting the Permanent Collection Acquisition Fund, you are investing in a legacy. Collections are an enduring record of important art and the conversations we have around them and a gift for future generations.
All donations above $25 are eligible for a tax receipt, and any donation above $50 grants you complimentary Two Rivers Gallery Membership for one year.
We are asking you today, to make a financial contribution of your choice towards our goal of $7,500 for Gary Pearson’s painting, Condominium or $5000 for our Pay It Forward Program. Donations can be made online or by calling us directly at 250-614-780
