MakerLab 2RG

Working on a knitting project? Bring it! Love to draw? Meet others who do too! Want to help build a 'photon torpedo'? MakerLab is the place to be!

MakerLab is a multi-disciplinary community space stocked with tools, technology, materials and mentors. Every week, we offer a new activity to try. Or, bring a project from home. Bounce ideas off other creative people!

Cool tools include a Tinkerine 3D printer, Epilog Laser Cutter/Engraver, silversmithing tools, sewing machine, as well as an ever-growing variety of general purpose tools. Please note that ages 13 and under must be accompanied by a guardian.

MakerLab is open every Thursday from 5-9. Saturdays from 1-4pm (September-May)

Please note:  Two Rivers Gallery Members receive a 10% discount on all classes and workshops. Applicable taxes are charged on all programs.

Hours: 

  • Thursdays, 5pm - 9pm

 Fees:

  • FREE to work socially with your own tools/materials
  • $7.50 DROP-IN to use MakerLab tools/materials
  • 10X Pass:  65 + tax
  • NEW Family Drop-In: $15 + tax; includes one adult and three youth up to the age of 16
  • NEW Family 10X Pass:  $140 + tax

Resources available for Maker Lab Drop-In include a wide variety of general purpose tools, electronics kit, sewing machine, 3D doodlers, print making press and more!

Individual Drop-in Fee - $7.50 +tax

  • Includes 1 kit worth $7.50 or $7.50 of material
  • Access to Woodworking Machines & Soldering tools – once prerequisite safety course has been taken.
  • Access to exhibition

Family Drop-in - $15 +tax

  • Includes 3 kits for a combined value of $21 or use of materials valued up to $21.
  • Access to Woodworking Machines & Soldering tools – once prerequisite safety course has been taken.
  • Access to exhibition.

*Materials given are at the discretion of the MakerLab Coordinator.

10X individual pass - $65 +tax

  • Includes $7.50 kit per use.
  • Access to Woodworking Machines & Soldering tools – once prerequisite safety course has been taken.  

10X Family pass - $140 +tax

  • Includes 3X $7.50 kits per use.
  • Access to Woodworking Machines & Soldering tools – once prerequisite safety course has been taken.  

Standard Memberships

  • Membership Standard - $45 +tax/month  Includes:
    • $10 worth of kits or materials per week (can be used Thurs. or Sat, does not carry over or add up over time) and use of tools to make things – sewing machine, paint brushes, hammer, etc.
    • Free admission to Gallery
    • Access to Woodworking Machines & Soldering tools – once prerequisite safety course has been taken.
  • Yearly Membership Standard - $495 +tax 
    • $10 worth of kits or materials per week (can be used Thurs. or Sat, does not flow over or add up over time). And use of tools to make things – sewing machine, paint brushes, hammer, etc.
    • Free admission to Gallery
    • Access to Woodworking Machines & Soldering tools – once prerequisite safety course has been taken.

Advance Memberships

1 Hour intro to tools and maker activities at MakerLab

  •  Thursday January 17th – Intro to MakerLab: tools, safety, and more
  •  Thursday January 24 – 3D doodling: Learn how to use our nifty 3D doodlers in a quick tutorial.
  •  Thursday January 31- Soldering: the basics of how to use our soldering irons.
  •  Thursday February 7 – Wood Turning: Learn from the Wood Tuners Guild the ins and outs of using the lathe.
  •  Thursday February 14 – Printmaking: learn how to do lino-cuts and how to use our printing press!
  •  Thursday February 21 – Yarn Night: Learn all about our yarn and what you can make!
  •  Thursday February 28 – Electronics Basics: Learn from our resident electronics mentor all about what we have in MakerLab and what you can make.
  •  Thursday March 7 – Intro to MakerLab: tools, safety, and more
  •  Thursday March 14 – Wood Burning: learn how to engrave an image onto a block of wood.

The PG Woodturners Guild meets the last Thursday of every month to discuss new business and demonstrate their craft.  Interested in learning more? Drop in to learn and observe.

Refund Policy:  Two Rivers Gallery requires payment to hold a spot for a class. If you cancel more than 48 hours prior to the start of the first class, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel after this time, we will charge a $20 administration fee, plus costs for any classes you take and materials you use. We will not issue refunds after the first two classes.
