Our Sunday Open Studio sessions are a creative way to spend time making interesting and unique art projects.

September 3 – Self Portraits
Take a walk through Reflections on Identity in the South Canfor Gallery. This collection of work from the gallery’s permanent collection is all about identity, so we will be making our own self-portraits.
September 10 – Word Pointillism
Combine words and patterns to create your own impressionist artwork.
September 17 – Fantasy Characters
Come and explore Tammy Salzl’s Into the Woods in the North Canfor Gallery then come upstairs and try making your own fantasy inspired character.
September 24 – DIY Scratch Paper
Join the maker movement this Sunday and learn how to make your own scratch art paper.
October 1 – Paper Bag Animals (Free Culture Days Event)
Lions, tigers, and bears, oh my! What animal will you transform your paper bag into?
October 8 – Book Page Silhouettes
Make your own fun foamstamp and test it out on book pages!
October 15 – Leaf Art
Experiment with wax resist painting to create your own amazing artwork.
October 22 – Masked Marvels
Create a decorative face, or a mask for yourself using plaster cast material.
October 29 – Collective Drawing
Check out the Z’otz* Collective’s Transitory Tributes in the SouthCanfor Gallery, then meet us in the Rustad Galleria for some community drawing inspired by the exhibition.
November 5 – Rubber Band Painting
Get messy this Sunday with some abstract rubber band paintings!
November 12 – Mini Mosaics
Paint glass tiles to create your own small mosaic to bring home.
November 19 – Cityscapes
Using pen and ink draw your own detailed city.
