• Print It Up!   Explore the world of printing by creating monotypes and block prints.
• Inventive Imaginations   Robots, creatures, buildings?  Create a “blueprint” of your idea and use it to help build your 3D model.
• Portrait Possibilities   Paint your face – with face paints and on canvas!
• Abstract Art   Wax resist, colourful collages – explore the world of shapes and colours.
• Staff Pick   Let our staff choose the activities for you and be surprised by what you create!

Each party includes:

• Private studio time for a variety of art activities (Choose from one of our five themes – see above)
• Crazy party hats made in the studio by you
• Original art apron or T-shirt for the birthday child, decorated by all the party guests
• A complimentary Family Pass (value $15) for each guest to take home
• Time for cake and presents – Bring your own cake and food to share with your guests in the Wildside (decorated just for you)!

Families...drop by the Gallery and get creative. Each week introduces a new project and another opportunity for you to express yourself and get hands on with all kinds of art!

Family Sundays are a creative way to spend time with the family and create interesting and unique art projects.

Drop in from 1pm to 4pm
Admission is $7.50 for Individuals and $15.00 for Families.

Mar 17: Mosaic Trivets  Use our glass tiles, some grout and a sense of design to make a trivet for your table. 

Mar 24:  Botanical Illustration  Visit Jennifer Wanner’s exhibition, “Immuto” in the Canfor Gallery then head upstairs to collect your supplies to do some botanical illustrations with ink and watercolour.
 
Mar 31:  Drawing Machine
 Spend a little time building your own wind-up drawing machine and then see what kind of art you can create with it.

Apr 7: Upcycle Yourself  Use papers and found objects to create an alter ego doll to hang on your wall.  Will you be a super-hero? A cooking goddess?  Add wings so you can fly?

Apr 14:  Once Upon a Time…  Think of your favourite fairy tale.  Who was your favourite character?  Was it the big bad wolf or the princess? Or maybe the knight in shining armour. Make that character from coloured modeling clay and then create a backdrop of scenery to place it in.

Apr 21:  Totally Tubular!  How can you create a sculpture from newspapers?  By making tubes, of course!  Roll some tubes and then build something spectacular.  

Apr 28:  Supersized Sticker Art  Design and cut your own shapes from adhesive vinyl and stick your way to a colourful masterpiece.  

May 5:   Box Book  It’s a box!  No, it’s a book!  What is it?  Come to the Gallery and find out.  Create your own box book… no, box… no, book… box?... book?

May 12: Bold and Beautiful Butterflies  Paint a wooden butterfly to brighten up your yard this spring.  

May 19: Chalkboard bottles  Chalk this one up to a fun time.  We’ve prepared bottle “chalkboards” and invite you to decorate your own to take home with you and use again as a base for some fantastic chalk art.

May 26:  Puppet Fun  Using a variety of materials, create a unique puppet character and then put on a puppet show in the WildSide.

Jun 2:  Supersized Painting  Brush, spatter, and print your way to an extra large painting to brighten up your room!

Jun 9:  Altered Toy Collage  Visit the exhibition “Disquiet” in the Canfor Gallery and see how the artists have altered toys to create their art.  What messages are they portraying?  Head upstairs to create your own altered toy art in collage format.  

Jun 16: Garden Banner  Paint a banner for your garden, porch or balcony and take it home to brighten up that space.

Jun 23:  Pipeline  Visit the juried exhibition “Pipeline” in the Canfor Gallery and respond to it upstairs with a painting on canvas board.  

Jun 30:  Hula Hoop Weaving  School’s out for summer.  Celebrate by creating a weaving from a hula hoop and strips of fabric.
