Shirley Babcock Indigenous Art
Opened my art business in 2012. I became interested in art after researching the history and culture of my maternal ancestors. My mothers’ heritage came from the Kwakwaka’wakw (Dzawada’enuxw) & Coast Salish (Shuneymuxw) First Nations. In 2017, I became a member of the Dzaewada’enuxw First Nation. I created my own style using the basic forms of the Mid Coast Art Style. My primary medium includes acrylic on canvas and drums. My products include original paintings, prints, art cards, drums, paint by number kits and colouring books.
