Since the demand for this class is so high, we’re adding two more sessions, in addition to the June 25 Try it Tuesday session. Join Yvonne for some fun with flowing streams of acrylic paints. She’ll show you how to make intriguing swirls and designs without the use of a brush.

Join us for a creative evening using different media. Register for one, two or all seven sessions!

Bright Colours and Bold Brushstrokes: Using roosters and hens as the artist’s muse, paint with acrylics on canvas, using expressive brushstrokes and contrasting colours for a vibrant and lively effect.

Portrait Painting: This will be a quick and dirty portrait workshop using paint to block out contours and then building them up from there.

Alcohol Ink: Explore the versatility and vibrancy of alcohol inks. Try painting, dropping, texturizing and more! (If you are smell sensitive, please keep in mind that the rubbing alcohol has a unique odour.

Introduction to Watercolours: Have you always wanted to paint with watercolours but didn’t know how to start?  Wendy will show you the basics so you can have fun painting this summer.

Acrylic Paint Pour: Watch the colours flow across your canvas, creating intriguing swirls and designs. Learn a variety of acrylic pour techniques as you complete your three projects.             

Introduction to the Zentangle Method 

Saturday June 1: 10am- 4 pm : 1 session 

The Zentangle Method is easy to use and a fun way to create abstract art with repetitive patterns.It is a way to relax, focus and explore your creative side. Spend a day learning the ins and outs and go home with enough ideas and tools to create more Zentangles on your own.

Facilitator: Briana Sadler

Training for use of the Epliog 60w Laser Cutter/Engraver.  Learn how to cut and/or engrave detailed designs up to 12" x 24" in wood, paper, fabric, acrylic, leather and more. The session covers orientation and safety.The fee includes a one-month MakerLab 2RG membership ($50 value), so you can practice your new laser skills. Prerequisite for Laser use.

Fee: $51 (includes one month MakerLab Membership - $50 value | 2 hours laser time)


3D Print 101

Training to use MakerLab's 3D printer. Learn the background of 3D printing, about current technologies and applications. Have a hands-on demo of the Gallery's printer. Prerequisite for 3D printer use.
